摘要
The work sums up experience from many experiments with herbicide protection of sugar beet. The influence of weed cover-abundance on beet yield is quantified. There is evidence that even careful application of herbicides slightly decreases the yield. A table of the effect of herbicide substances on 25 of the most common weeds was compiled. Timing of herbicide application should be primarily led by the effort to target the weeds at the beginning of the first true leaf pair phase at the latest and not by a formalized system of a certain number of applications. Using this principle, there were in average 4.1 applications in 42 experiments. Using a consistent system of herbicide application on small weeds, it would be possible to decrease the herbicide doses and herbicide protection costs.
