摘要
Hydrogenolysis of lignin to monomers has been extensively explored, but a systematic investigation of Ru-based catalysts for lignin hydrogenolysis was rare. Herein, we studied the effects of acid, Ru particle size, and solvent on lignin depolymerization. Ru-based catalysts with high acid concentrations gave a high monomer yield from lignin depolymerization. Ru loaded on the SiO2 with the plane structure was more active than those Ru/zeolite catalysts with microporous. Smaller Ru nanoparticles greatly facilitated the lignin depolymerization, which can be prepared using NaBH4 as the reductant. The addition of 20% of water into ethanol remarkably enhanced the monomer yield and altered the monomer distributions, in which the high-temperature water released the protons that promoted the hydrolysis of lignin apart from the hydrogenolysis over Ru.
