摘要
A gram-stain-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped (1.3-1.9x0.3-0.5 mu m) and non-motile marine bacterium, designated MEBiC09412(T), was isolated from seaweed collected at Yeonggwang County, South Korea. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis demonstrated that strain MEBiC09412(T) shared high sequence similarity with Marinirhabdus gelatinilytica NH83(T) (95.4 %). Growth was observed at 17-38 degrees C (optimum 30 degrees C), at pH 4.0-8.5 (optimum pH 7.0) and with 0.5-6.0% (w/v; optimum 2.5 %) NaCl. The predominant cellular fatty acids were iso-C-15 : 0 (27.4 %), iso-C-15 : 1 G (9.6 %), anteiso-C-15 : 0 (14.6 %), iso-C-16 : 0 (6.2 %), iso-C-17 : 0 3OH (13.2 %) and summed feature 3 (comprising C-16 : 1 omega 6c and/or C-16 : 1 omega 7c; 7.4 %). The DNA G+C content was determined to be 43.1 mol%, while the major respiratory quinone was menaquinone-6. Several phenotypic characteristics such as indole production, the oxidizing patterns of several carbohydrtaes (of glucose, fructose, sucrose, maltose, mannose etc.) and organic acids, and the enzyme activities of alpha-chymotrypsin and alpha-glucosidase differentiated strain MEBiC09412(T) from M. gelatinilytica NH83(T). On the basis of this polyphasic taxonomic data, strain MEBiC09412(T) should be classified as a novel species of the genus Marinirhabdus with the suggested name Marinirhabdus citrea sp. nov. The type strain is MEBiC09412(T) (=KCCM 43216(T)=JCM 31588(T)).
