Body-centric wireless communications (BCWCs) have become an active area of research due to their wide range of applications in areas such as e-health systems, home care and entertainment. In this paper, two compact wearable dual-mode (on-/off-body modes) antennas are introduced and discussed. For on-body mode at 10 MHz, E-field distributions are analyzed with an arm phantom and a high-resolution human model, while for the off-body mode in the 2.45 GHz ISM band, reflection coefficients (S-11) and radiation patterns are studied.
