摘要
The long-range organization of a liquid crystal can be controlled by using an additive that consists of cholesterol units attached to a hydrazone switch. The acid/base-induced rotary motion in the switch is transmitted to the self-assembled supramolecular host, wherein this information is propagated and amplified. This process alters the photophysical properties of the host, which results in the change of the readout color from purple to green. Copyright © 2013 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
