摘要
The performance of hydraulic jump mixing in the coagulation process for removal of turbidity from synthetic wastewater was investigated in this research. A physical model was used to simulate the characteristics of hydraulic jump. The aim of using hydraulic jump was to mix coagulants with raw water instantly and efficiently prior to water flow into a flocculation tank. The effects of alum dose, pH, initial turbidity, Froude number, velocity gradient, mixing intensity and mixing time on turbidity removal were studied. The results showed that the best conditions were 10-15 mg L-1, 6-7 and 800 s(-1) for alum dose, pH and gradient velocity, respectively. The turbidity removal increased with increased Froude number, mixing intensity and mixing time, while it decreased with increased initial turbidity. The results of hydraulic jump showed good performance compared with mechanical mixing using a jar tester.
