摘要
This paper proposes a compact stacked Bow-Tie microstrip antenna using Stubs operating over a bandwidth (6 GHz-11GHz) as allocated by FCC (Federal Communications Commission), suited for an UWB (Ultra-Wideband) application. The application of proximity-coupled feeding mechanisms for achieving ultra-wideband with microstrip antenna has also been proposed. The proposed antenna is compact and planar profile with less surface area. Initially Bow-tie microstrip patch using stubs is tested for bandwidth, thereafter, two non-uniform rectangular parasitic patches is used in the same plane as the radiating patch, along the radiating edges, to provide multiple resonating frequencies at 7 GHz and 10.147 GHz, which are then adjusted to get closer in order to obtain a wider bandwidth. The prototype antenna was built successfully and the measured result shows a good amount of agreement with that of experimental results.
