摘要
Copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) were fabricated by employing an easy and bio-synthetic approach utilizing peel extract of Pogestemon benghalensis (P. benghalensis) at ambient temperature. The bio-fabricated CuO NPs were studied using X-ray diffraction (X-RD), Ultra Violet-Visible absorption (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) characterization techniques. Biosynthesized nanoparticles are crystalline in nature having 40 nm mean size of the particle. Also, the prepared NPs were studied for their cytotoxicity towards KYSE30 human esophageal cancer (EAC) cell line and the outcomes of this study displayed that CuO NPs had antineoplastic activity with 13.96 mg/L of half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50), whereas no higher effects of cytotoxicity were noticed in Human Dermal Fibroblasts (HDF) with 48.88 mg/L of IC50 value. Further, the obtained NPs can be used for the development of novel drugs that can be used for the treatment of esophageal cancer in nursing care.
