Terrestrial species of the genus Nanorchestes (Endeostigmata: Nanorchestidae) in Europe

Five species in the genus Nanorchestes Topsent & Trouessart have been discovered from terrestrial habitats in Europe. The reasons are provided for naming them N. arboriger (Berlese), N. cf. collinus Hirst, N. pulvinar Grandjean, N. cf. antarcticus Strandtmann, and N. cf. lianoi Strandtmann. The species are keyed and the old descriptions are complemented by scanning electron micrographs of their prodorsa.
