摘要：

The paper deals with the activities of university guidance counsellors. The main aspects of their performance as well as the ways for creating a favorable environment for successful adaptation of first-year students are considered. Particular attention is devoted to the application of innovative and smart technologies in university guidance counselling such as training, group teaching methods, role-playing games, using of electronic educational resources, etc.
