A new species of Scopaeus Erichson, 1839 (Staphylinidae, Paederinae) from the Qohrud Mountains in Iran

Scopaeus qohrudensis sp. n. from the Qohrud mountain range in Central Iran is described, its primary and secondary sexual characters are figured, and the distribution is mapped. Both biogeography and phylogenetic position of the new species are briefly discussed.
