摘要
Lymphedema is a clinical condition stemming from the buildup of macromolecules in the interstitial space and the consequent retention of fluid. This paper reports the gain in joint mobility achieved through the intensive treatment of lymphedema using the Godoy method for five days. A 56-year-old patient with a history of chronic edema in the feet for approximately 50 years and frequent episodes of erysipelas (at least once a year) sought our clinic. The physical examination revealed an extensive fibrotic process in the feet, with the right foot limited in movement to less than five degrees (measured using a goniometer). Intensive treatment for lymphedema was performed for five days using the Godoy method, which resulted in improvements in the angle of plantar flexion and extension. In conclusion, the intensive lymphedema treatment employed enables an improvement in joint mobility in a short period of time.
