摘要：
This paper deals with the degree of uncertainty associated with fuzzy variables. An information theoretical view is applied to characterize the uncertainty of fuzzy variables and the difference between measuring the uncertainty of fuzzy variables and fuzzy sets is indicated. Based on credibility measure, the entropy of fuzzy variables is formulated to quantify the uncertainty of fuzzy variables and its properties are investigated as well as some examples are given for illustration. In addition, the definition of quadratic entropy of fuzzy variables is provided as an alternative measure of uncertainty.
