摘要
The removal of Amido black 10B from aque-ous media by cross-linked chitosan was studied in a batch system. Adsorbent characterizations were investigated using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The effects of adsorbent dose, pH and ionic strength on the adsorption of dye onto crosslinked chitosan were investigated. The maximum adsorption occurred at the pH range 1.0-4.0. The presence of electrolytes decreased the adsorption of dye from solution. The adsorption process was found to follow pseudo-first-order kinetics. The dye equilibrium adsorption data were fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models, the former being found to provide the best fit of the experimental data. The maximum monolayer adsorption capacity for dye was 11.47 mg/g at 293K.
