摘要
The inductive pulsed power supplies for the electromagnetic launchers have one major disadvantage that too much energy is remained and then wasted in the inductors, after the projectile leaves the muzzle. This paper proposes a novel idea to solve this problem. In essence, the solution is a combination and cooperation of the inductive pulsed power supplies and the capacitive pulsed power supplies. The working principle and the theoretical feasibility is discussed and verified through numerical simulations. The simulation results of a 69.2-kJ example system show that 83.5% of the 12.7-kJ residual energy is recovered. And the precharged voltage of the energy storage capacitor in the capacitive unit achieves 109% recovery.
