摘要
Innovation in SMEs exhibits some peculiar features that most traditional indicators of innovation activity do not capture (Bronwyn et. al., 2008). Therefore, in this paper, we try to present a brief situation of Romanian SMEs innovation landscape basesd on a research conducted on 1569 companies all over the country. We found that unfortunately, compared to previous years, the Romanian innovation in SMEs is deficient and trend tends to amplify this phenomenon, between multiple causes of this process are the deepening national economic crisis, institutional and organizational barriers for developing new products / services and tendencies to approach innovation only on short term. A positive aspect refferes to increased access to opportunities for accessing European funds, whereby companies can develop innovative solutions really competitive at European level.
