Synthesis and characterization of some transition metal complexes with a coumarin derivative

摘要
A new ligand (2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxylic acid hydrazide) has been prepared by reaction of coumarin-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester and hydrazine hydrate. This ligand was used to prepare new transition metal complexes with the metal chlorides of Cr-III, Mn-II, Co-II, Ni-II, Cu-II, Zn-II, Cd-II, and Hg-II. Ligand and metal complexes were characterized and investigated by use of FTIR and UV-visible spectroscopy, elemental analysis, atomic absorption spectroscopy, molar conductivity, molar ratio, and magnetic susceptibility measurements.
