摘要
The evolution of the theory of industrial accident causation and safety prevention connected with it from accidents perceived as 'accidental events or the consequence of an unexpected higher force occurring in systems' to 'the model of an accident as a consequence of mistakes committed because of shortage of motivation, knowledge and experience' of workers made us turn our attention, apart from the technical sphere, to the spheres of management, motivation, proper training, evaluation and control of actions within OHS prevention. OHS forms an inherent component of the system of human resources management. The article presents the results of a survey conducted among workers in Polish hard coal mines in order to determine real attitudes towards following occupational health and safety regulations. The imperative was to determine effective stimuli motivating mine crews to behave in a safe manner in difficult and dangerous conditions of underground work.
