摘要
Transborder trucking regulations have affected the infrastructure along the US international borders and the number of trucks entering the US. The Motor Carrier Act of 1980 caused the number of trucks entering the US to increase, and trucking-related establishments to decrease, along the borders. Restrictive policies, such as the Motor Carrier Safety Act of 1984, had the opposite effects along the US-American border. Unilateral deregulating policies, such as the Motor Vehicle transportation Act of 1987 for the US-Canadian border, caused the number of trucking-related establishments to increase along the border, with no increasing effect on inbound trucks.
