摘要：
The outage probability for most wireless communications networks can be approximated by R = Pr(X-2 < X-1) where X-1 and X-2 are independent random variables. Here, a comprehensive collection of formulae is derived for R by assuming the most commonly known models for X-1 and X-2. A discussion is provided of four possible applications to problems in wireless communications. Copyright (C) 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
