Scintillating HfF4-based glasses doped cerium chloride and cerium oxide compounds

摘要
Fluorohafnate glasses (HfF4-BaF2-CeF3-AlF3-NaF system) doped with CeCl3 and some cerium oxide compounds were prepared. The effect of these additives on both crystallization behavior and scintillating properties (light yield, emission spectra, decay time) was studied. Glass-forming ability was estimated as a function of additive contents. Stable glasses with similar to 12 at.% Ce3+ and increased light yield were obtained. A shift of the emission band to longer wavelengths for glasses doped with some oxides, was found.
