Mapping of informal settlements: identity and citizenship in Duque de Caxias - RMRJ

This work presents partial results of research, synthesis of socio-spatial data and mapping on Informal Settlements in the municipality of Duque de Caxias, Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro. Its objective is to territorially configure the production of urban informality - mapping favelas and irregular developments and discussing their insertion in the capitalist production of space. It seeks to show spatially the processes of exclusion and inequality, as well as contributing to the construction of new discourses, narratives, and representations of these territories, thus reinforcing the notions of identity and citizenship. The images and analyzes presented promote a visibility of informal settlements and an articulation between different forms of knowledge production, aiming at a collaborative work for the construction of new narratives about these territories as a form of struggle for citizenship.
