摘要：

Based on a description of the current psychotherapeutic treatment system in Germany and some of its problems, this article reviews findings dealing with the question of which selection mechanisms are relevant in relation to access to (outpatient) psychotherapeutic treatment. It is further discussed how the access to psychotherapy can be improved and provide equivalent opportunities. Finally, recommendations are given on how future issues of psychotherapy research might serve the interests of patients.
