摘要
The effect of the matrix growth texture on the longitudinal modulus of a titanium matrix composite was investigated. The matrix coating by magnetron sputtering was composed of hexagonal alpha and exhibited fibrous texture that the < 0 0 0 1 > direction was parallel to the SiC fiber direction. The growth texture was 6 times random. After consolidation, this texture of hexagonal alpha was retained and enhanced. The texture in the composite was 11 times random. The cubic beta in the composite showed weak texture that the < 1 1 0 > direction was parallel to the fiber direction. The longitudinal modulus of the composite was improved by the fibrous texture of hexagonal alpha. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
