摘要
Diazotization of substituted anilines 1 with NaNO2 and Conc. HCl at 0(0) gave the diazonium chlorides 2. Coupling of substituted aryl diazonium chlorides 2 with ethyl acetoacetate in methanol gave ethyl-2-arylhydrazono-3-oxobutyrates 3. Reaction of 3 with 2-hydroxybenzo hydrazide gave the novel pyrazolone derivatives (4a-j). The newly synthesized compounds were screened for their in vitro antibacterial, antifungal and antitubercular activities. Some of the new compounds showed good antibacterial and antitubercular activity. Structures of all the new compounds were established on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, H-1 NMR and Mass spectral data.
