摘要
Eighty consecutive patients underwent partial open fundoplication for gastroesophageal reflux disease. The patients were divided into two groups according to the part of esophagus free of gastric involvement: group I at right; group -2 anterior wall. The most frequent complication was transient dysphagia, similar in the two groups. One patient (group 1) presented relapse of the heartburn and regurgitation (migration of the fundoplication). In both groups an increase in lower esophageal sphincter pressure was observed in the postoperative period. The authors conclude that the two techniques are similar.
