摘要
Understanding how the variable co-action and interaction of multiple genetic and environmental factors lead to disease occurrence may lead to novel. prevention and intervention strategies. Whole-genome association (WGA) or genome-wide association (GWA) promises to determine the genetic contribution to variability in disease risk. This review is an overview of the principles of WGA and its limitations. Some essential concepts and terminology are explained. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All. rights reserved.
