All-Fiber Repetition-Rate Stabilization of Mode-Locked Lasers for Ultralow-Noise Microwave Generation

摘要
We demonstrate a novel all-fiber repetition-rate stabilization method of mode-locked lasers. The method is based on an all-fiber Michelson interferometer with a km-scale fiber delay line. By stabilizing the laser to a 7-km-long fiber delay, the absolute integrated rms timing jitter of mode-locked Er-fiber laser is suppressed from 10 ps to 6.5 fs over 1 s. The absolute frequency instability (Allan deviation) reaches 4.3x10(-14) at 0.1 s.
