Influence of the chemical structure of some copolyamides on their ability to moisture sorption

摘要
Chemical fibres from polyamide 6 and polyamide 66 have too low an absorptivity for clothing, underwear and lingerie application. Recently, new kinds of polyamide fibres with substantially higher moisture absorptivity have appeared on the world market. While conducting research into copolyamides, the authors noticed that several of the copolyamides obtained had good moisture absorptivity, higher than that of PA 6. To synthesise these copolyamides aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, etheroaliphatic and aromatic polyamide forming compounds were used, together with caprolactam, This article presents the research results obtained by testing moisture absorption of the synthesised copolymers. An attempt was made to explain whether moisture sorption depends only on the chemical structure or is also influenced by other factors.
