摘要
The antenna is a key element in today's wireless communication systems. This paper is focused on developing miniaturized antenna, having capability to resonate over more than one band. Initially square patch antenna is analyzed with its S11 Parameters, and Gain characteristics. Then structure based on Split Ring Resonator is analyzed with similar antenna characteristics. Split Ring Resonator is basic building block of newly arrived artificial materials called metamaterials. LC resonance behavior of SRR gives it capability to resonate at sub wavelength sizes. It can be seen that SRR based antenna is small and flexible to designers as antenna could be made to resonate at desired frequency just by scaling its dimensions. Monopole in conjunction with SRR gives dual band capability. Modification in shape of an antenna has been done by placing strips inside the basic single ring SRR structure, which affects the LC resonance behavior of SRR and gives further size reduction. Co centric multi ring structure gives size reduction with multi bands. Different proposed structure here gives 85%, 94% and 92% footprint size reduction compared to conventional microstrip Patch antenna, with bandwidth 5%, 6%, (4.1% and 5.4%) and gain 1.6dB, 1.4dB and 1.7dB respectively, which can be used in many wireless and mobile applications
