摘要
Digitalization of electrical utilities and supply chain is one of the main topics in energy area today. IoT (Internet of Things) and home automation devices are becoming common with increasing speed. This paper gives an updated review and evaluation of position of the IoT in electricity supply chain today. We also inspect this sector's key trends in near future in relation to IoT. Both industrial Things of Internet (IIoT) and consumer level IoT are presented from electrical power supply chain perspective. Paper introduces meaningful IoT consortiums and standards related to this particular sector. We also present practical use cases and open up future possibilities enabled by IoT. Aspects of energy saving, consumption of market price optimization and real-time applications in supply - demand model are presented. As a result, IoT is recognized one of the key trends of electricity supply chain today.
