摘要
An attempt to assess the increase of natural gas demand for power and heat generation is presented in this work. Two factors were taken into account: the necessity to build gas-fired peak-load heat sources; and the necessity to substitute low-capacity coal-fired sources with gas-fired ones. The latter results from the new, sharpened emission requirements introduced by the new industrial emissions directive. The performed analyses show that till 2020 an increase of the natural gas demand for power and heat generation purposes by about 7 billion m 3 could be expected.
