摘要
This paper presents a survey of the object-oriented design metrics. The design metrics have been grouped into 3 categories. The early 90's have seen development of a set of metrics measuring different aspects of the software design, which have been discussed in the first category. Then the researchers concentrated on specific aspects of the quality of the design like coupling, fault-proneness, cohesion, reusability, and complexity. The metrics related to coupling and fault-proneness of the classes have been discussed in the second category. The third category gives details related to cohesion and reuse of object-oriented software.
