摘要
Application of Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC) as the primary constitutive material of segmental tunnels is considered a feasible option in modern tunneling projects. The design of underground tunnels in active seismic zones is performed with specific seismic considerations to ensure a safe and viable design. The response modification factor (R-factor) is a key parameter in the seismic design of structures. Currently no documented values are proposed for the R-factor of FRC underground tunnels. Aiming to take a step forward in this regard, an experimental and numerical study is conducted to evaluate the seismic ductility capacity of Steel FRC segmental tunnels and derive R-factor values to facilitate its seismic design.
