Germanophiles and neutralists: traditionalist and regenerationist projects for Spain (1914-1918)

This article intends to analyze the Spanish heterogeneous intellectual group favorable to the Central Powers during WWI. Without neglecting the relevance of Carlism, it shows the existence of two differentiated sectors, one of traditionalist inspiration and another one with regenerationists roots, which, from the defense of German culture, proposed an alternative to heirs of 98 intellectuals who supported the Allies. Finally, the text holds that the influence of this experience is central to understand the renewal of right wings' nationalist political cultures in subsequent years.
