摘要
Infrared spectroscopy studies of methyl methacrylate (MMA) in 20 different organic solvents were undertaken to investigate the solute-solvent interactions. The frequencies of carbonyl stretching vibration nu(C=O) of MMA were correlated with the solvent properties such as the KBM parameter, the sol vent acceptor number (AN), and the linear solvation energy relationships (LSER). The solvent-induced stretching vibration frequency shifts showed a better correlation with LSER than AN while the correlation with the KBM parameter was not good.
