摘要
Variation for several plant and fruit traits has been documented in common garden collections of hazelnut (Corylus avellana L.) landraces. Full-sib and half-sib seedling populations offer an opportunity to select new clonal cultivars. We compared genetic diversity in a germplasm collection and a full-sib progeny for several traits. Heritability was estimated for six traits by regression of half-sib progeny means on maternal parent values. Regression coefficients were high for the proportion of buds infested by eriophyoid mites. Seedlings of 'Tonda Gentile delle Langhe' and 'Sivri' had many blasted buds, while those of 'Longue d'Espagne' and 'Nocchione' had few. Regression coefficients were also high for leaf budbreak date and nut length. Regression coefficients were not significant for beginning of anthesis, nut width, or seed weight. Accessions were clustered using discriminant analysis of simple sequence repeat (SSR) marker data and phenotypic values for the highly heritable traits. Seedlings from the cross 'Nocchione' x 'Tonda Gentile Romana', whose parents were divergent for molecular and phenotypic traits, showed similar or greater diversity than 29 hazelnut accessions.
