摘要
In this paper we consider a k-unit parallel system having component lifetime distribution to be exponential with scale parameter. Based on progressively Type-II censored sample, the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) of the scale parameter is derived. EM algorithm is used to obtain MLE. Based on the asymptotic distribution of MLE, asymptotic confidence interval is constructed. Asympbatic confidence interval of the log-transformed MLE is also constructed. In order to compare the performance of the MLE and confidence interval, we conduct extensive simulation study. An approximate beta-expectation tolerance interval is also derived and its performance is studied.
