Efficient gene transfer by electroporation in vivo constitutes a new approach to study the regulation, function and expression of genes in the chick embryo. This method provides a simple mean to combine genetic modification and classical tissue manipulation in the same organism. It can be applied to developmental biology questions in a wide range of tissues or organisms and present the advantages to be easy, efficient, quick and cheap. It also has a promising therapeutic potential in tumoral treatment.
