This work aims to optimize the design of an air-conditioned multi-zone house integrated phase change materials (PCMs) considering the north Moroccan climate conditions. The objective of this optimization is to minimize the heating and cooling loads. The methodology of this optimization is based on the coupling between Energyplus (R) as a dynamic simulation tool and GenOpt (R) as an optimization tool. The results show that the obtained optimal design allows minimizing the energy consumption regarding reference house without PCM. (C) 2017 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
