A new Late Miocene mammalian locality from Velestinon, Thessaly, Greece. Contribution to the biochronology of the Neogene deposits

摘要：
The discovery of a new Late Miocene mammalian site named Perivolaki is reported from the area of Velestinon (Thessaly, central Greece), and a preliminary dating of the deposits is provided. The Neogene-Quaternary deposits of the area consist mainly of sandy and argillaceous sediments with intercalations of sandstones or conglomerates, of fluviolacustrine-fluvial origin. Four lithostratigraphic units are distinguished. The determined mammalian fauna suggests an Early-Middle Turolian age (MN 11-12). ((C) Academie des sciences / Elsevier, Paris.).
