摘要
Slow-moving and small-sized unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) flying in low-altitude airspace are difficult to be detected, controlled and handled. Staring radar, with its high detection sensitivity and doppler resolution, has shown significant advantages in detecting slow-moving targets with low RCS, which is gradually used for drone detection and tracking. When using staring radar to detect low-altitude targets, the characteristics of wide-beam transmission will seriously affect the system's processing of target echo signals. To measure the altitude of target, a new elevation angle estimate algorithm based on transmitted waveform information for staring radar is proposed. Simulation and micro-UAV's field test prove that the proposed method is helpful for staring radar getting accurate height data of target.
