Crystalline substance of N,N-diethyl anilinium picrate (NNDEAP) has been synthesized and single crystals of NNDEAP were successfully grown for the first time by the slow evaporation solution growth technique at room temperature with dimensions 14x14x10 mm(3). The formation of new crystal has been confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The grown crystals were characterized by HRXRD and UV-Vis NIR transmission analysis. The third order nonlinear optical parameters (nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear absorption coefficient) were determined by the Z-scan technique. It was found to be in the order of -7.91x10(-8)cm(2)/W and-5.71x 10(-4)cm/W.
