摘要
This paper investigates the determination of design wind speed using joint probability density function (JPDF) of wind speed and direction. Three JPDF models, which are sectional probability distribution function model, anisotropic Gaussian distribution model and angular-linear model, are adopted. The theoretical background and model parameter calculation methods are first introduced. Functions for determining the design wind speed from these JPDF models are then derived. Finally, cases studies are conducted to determine the design wind speed using field measurements. It is found that the anisotropic Gaussian distribution model is not suitable for determination of design wind speed. The other two JPDF models, on the other hand, give reasonable results.
