Preparation and Upconversion Luminescence Characterization of Tm3+:Yb3+:Er3+:C12A7 Polycrystal

摘要
Polycrystal with the general formula Tm3+:Yb3+:Er3+: Ca12Al14O33 (C12A7) was prepared by a solid-state reaction method sintered at 1300 degrees C for three hours. The upconversion (UC) fluorescence texted shows that room temperature bright white upconversion luminescence in Tm3+:Yb3+:Er3+: doped C12A7 polycrystal was obtained under single-wavelength diode laser excitation of 980 nm. The white UC luminescence consists of green, red and blue UC radiation corresponding to the transmissions H-2(11/2) -> I-4(15/2) of Er3+ ion, I-4(15/2) -> I-4(11/2) of Er3+ ion and (1)G(11/2) -> H-3(6) of Tm3+ ion. The branch ratio of three colors can be changed by altering the contents of Tm3+: Yb3+ and Er3+ ions in Tm3+: Yb3+: Er3+: C12A7 polycrystal. The blue radiation corresponds both radiation of the Tm3+ ion and F-centers in the host material.
