A novel aperture stacked patch (ASP) antenna with circular polarization is proposed. The antenna consists of four parasitic patches, each one being rotated by an angle of 30 degrees relative to its adjacent patches. The proposed antenna has achieved a simultaneous axial ratio <3 dB and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) <2 bandwidth of 33.6% (7.2-10.11 GHz) in the single element and 36.15% (7.1-10.2 GHz) in a 2 x 1-element array configuration. The antenna behavior is explained by a thorough parameter study together with fabrication and measurement.
