摘要：

The process of the search for the minimum of a function in a metric space is considered. This process is realized naturally in excitable media. The problems of optimization and learning as the major stages of a nonlocal search are stated. In this part of the work, the problem of optimization that determines the direction of motion in a nonlocal search is studied.
