摘要
The growing phenomenon of Social networking media with many and varied definition is becoming a necessity of individuals due to its high level of acceptability. Social networking media provides us another world of living. Peer to peer direct communication has been gradually replaced with virtual indirect communication with the help of technical devices. People are living two different lives one real physical life another virtual social life due to this newer kind of social media platform. Specialization is not a prerequisite for content generation in social networking media. Now conventional media with its limitations like access, cost have been overlooked. Now the time has arrived to utilize the recurring advantages of these social networking media in versatile and essential field of education. This paper is intended to find out the impact of social networking media on higher education for which usage pattern of popular media like Facebook, Twitter, Blogs etc. had been recorded with respect to faculty and student. Then Statistical techniques have been used to find the impact index which represents the actual force of media on higher education. This Paper also elaborates that how social networking media can be used as a educational tool and what should be kept in mind while using these media.
