THE BULLYING PHENOMENON IN TIMISOARA'S SCHOOLS

The phenomenon of bullying in schools is a complex student on student type of negative actions which contravene the children's fundamental right to educational activities in a safe environment. Although the phenomenon has a long history in Romanian schools, only during the recent years have been taken concrete measures to prevent and fight against these negative actions, many of them targeted exclusively on school violence. In this article we try to analyze the specific of the phenomenon in all its complexity in Timisoara's schools, trying to answer the following questions: what are the main forms of bullying prevalent in Timisoara's schools? How are the forms of bullying varying according to age, sex and school unit? What measures have been taken to ensure safe school environment for Timisoara students? In the final part of the article we will highlight some proposals for measures to reduce the phenomenon of bullying in school.
