A sequential S(N)2-Michael addition-Michael addition reaction process between omega-iodo-alpha,beta-alkynoates and delta- or gamma-amino alpha,beta-unsaturated esters is developed, which affords polysubstituted pyrrolizidines, indolizidines or quinolizidines in good yields.
